A hidden gem!

Cozy, yummy and the best in Rotterdam

Want to have the best wine fit to your taste? No fuss? Good relaxed neighborhood vibe? Then this is the place. I love the addition of the Portuguese fancy cans of fish preserves too ;-) thank you guys glad you are there.

Cosy Wine Bar (with other drinks too)

Love this place for a weekday or weekend drink or two. It’s relatively small, so not ideal for large groups unless you go early and reserve a decent amount of seating. The patio is great when its warm out. The owner and bartenders are very friendly and helpful, will let you taste/try things and will even chat you up a bit in a nice and polite way. I always feel welcome here. The wine selection is delicious. There aren’t enough places like this. They are closed on random days, so check the schedule before heading over, but there are lots of other places in the area as well.

Great wine and interesting bites

The owner created an impromptu wine tasting for us, indecisive as we were. The Barbera won, or I should say we did, since we enjoyed the wine, Portuguese tinned fish appetizer and interesting conversation with the owner. A great find.

Don’t tell anyone

Googled asparagus and got this place as a result. Wonderful! Service amazing - making you feel at home instantly. Asparagus was very good (soft boiled egg was a revelation). Enough wine and craft beer to make us tipsy. Cheese as dessert, coffee and we were done for €75 for three. Great value, great place. This is what ROTTERDAM is all about.

Good wines : friendly service

Very friendly waitress takes the time for you to explain what kind of wine you like before making a suggestion which is according to your taste and which goes well with the snack (e.g. portion of cheese) you order.

Beste wine bar in town

By far best wine bar in town. Location is in the hip and upcoming Hoogstraat. Just tell Ward what you are looking for that night and he will not rest untill he finds you the perfect glass of wine. Ask Bas for a ‘vleesplank’ and your evening is complete. All of the above is true but in the end you come for the vibe created by Bas and Ward. It is easy going, relaxed and fun. When visiting Rotterdam also visit Verward!

Awesome wine bar with world class service and selection of wines!

Location wise a bit hard to find but totally worth it!! Awesome wines and service and the owners has very professional wine knowledge! Worth of visit.

It’s the cozy feeling you get when you go through the curtains at the entrance. Ward behind the bar and Bas in the kitchen will make you feel right at home. A continuously full glass of wine or beer and a plate that reminds you of moms cooking together with their open and friendly smiles its hard not to fall for this hidden gem.
