About us

Soup en Zo is a culinary take-away soup restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. We have three locations: one in the Spiegelstraat in the gallery area, one restaurant with a terras outside in the Jodenbreestraat next to the Waterlooplein and one restaurant with some seating options in and outside in the van Baerlestraat next to the Museumplein. All of our soups and salads are freshly prepared daily by our chefs. Our food is served swiftly and our crew is quick and friendly. This makes our soups extra tasty! Seven days a week there are at least eight different soups on the menu at any given time. Besides this we have an assortment of homemade goodness for on the side, such as quiches, cheese straws and delicious cakes.

Excellent for lunch. £5 for medium bowl of soup

Many choices of freshly prepared soup and a small portion of bread. Extra bread can be bought for 40 cents. Highly recommended.

Great find!

If you’re looking for healthy food, this is your place. Excellent soups, and a HUGE selection (many 5-6 types?) Salads are also outstanding! Great combo of soup and salads - we could eat here every day! (We went twice while visiting Amsterdam.) Wish they opened in the states.

Fresh, yummy and healthy

Cous cous, cauliflower and veggie soup were really good.. Friendly waitstaff, clean and great location.. Highly recommended..

Finger-lickin’ good!

Amazing selection of soups, fluctuating in choice every week I was told. At first, I thought it was a bit on the pricey side but then I had one of the small soups with beef and beans (available in different sizes) and I didn’t need to cook dinner that day. The only thing is that I’d like the red-haired guy with long frizzy hair making the soup to please wear a chef’s cap.

Great, Light Lunch

Busy on weekends but worth it!

Amazing food! Super yummy and healthy! Really worth trying one of their locations if you get a chance.

Delicious vegan food

Loved this place! It was my first night in Amsterdam and was unsure about where I could eat as a vegan, but this place had lots of options for me! It also has vegetarian and meat soups as well as vegan, with some sweet treats and salads. I got the peanut butter, banana and sweet potato soup - it tasted really fresh and added some warmth to a cold January night. I also had a date flapjack which was delicious! The staff were really friendly which made this experience even more positive! There are options to sit in or take away as well.
