Nice boat ride

I took the supper cruise and it was pleasant to be on the water. The dinner is at a local spot and is nice place with simple food. The drive to and from the pick up point is a little longer than expected.

A Wonderful Evening

Last night we did the dinner tour with Zaan Tours. It was an extremely warm day and evening, but once on the boat we were cooled by the nice river breeze. Our captain and tour guide Bret was very nice and knowledgeable. The dinner he arranged for us was wonderful. Having our starters cruising on the river was so much fun. We then returned to the restaurant for dinner and desert. Typically, desert would have been at another restaurant, but they were closed for holiday. I’ve done many dinner cruises on large vessel, but this was just the four of us, and the food was much better! We all had a wonderful time and highly recommend this excursion!

Callum turned us around

This was a horror story turned amazing (sparing everyone the details). It was a fun dinner cruise/windmill tour. We had an amazing appetizer on the boat while touring the windmills. Then, on the way back, we stopped for our main course and dessert. The views were amazing and our guide Callum was the best. The food was also amazing.

We also met some amazing young ladies!

Beautiful and informative ride, friendly guide

Let me get this out of the way first: our tour was not without complications (most of which were not the fault of Zaan Tours - what is happening with the dining locations is not in their purview, I understand). What warrants the excellent review despite our challenges (slow dinner service, limited locations) was the approach our guide Callum, took to the entire thing. With good humor and transparency he let us know what was going on (one restaurant was closed that day) and did everything within his power to make it right (touched base with the restaurant to check on why service was slow for our tables).

Moreover, the actual "tour" part of the ride was fabulous. He was engaging, informative, had many entertaining anecdotes for what we were seeing, and absolutely made it a worthwhile experience. Our trip with Zaan Tours was the dinner trip, though our party wishes we had booked with them for a canal tour through Amsterdam as well - on a whim earlier in our trip we went on canal tour with a competing company...nowhere near what we wanted as the "guided" part was just a recorded audio message that was timed to the duration of the trip..not so helpful when the captain is either fast or slow and the messages come on when you aren’t in proximity to the landmark they’re discussing. We should’ve saved our money there and gone with Zaan tours (and an actual, real live guide).
