Among Amsterdam’s best french fries

We’ve been eating french fries at Pont Neuf ever since the kiosk opened. Local newspaper Het Parool opened its Top 10 Most Delicious French Fries list (as selected by its readers) with a description of this place. Comments included, "Beautiful golden color, with Belgian mayonnaise for the purists." "Homemade, fantastic baked in clean oil." Indeed, that’s our experience as well. Consistently. The kiosk is located just steps from the (free) ferry landing across from Central Station. Note: there are just a couple of seats inside, and there’s a bench outside. However, there is a tiny park just behind the kiosk, with lots benches.

French Frites are rarely so good

Very nice french frites! Several mayonaises and friendly owner. And so easy to reach if you are around Amsterdam Central Station: take free ferry to buiksloterweg and walk 50 meters.

This is an awesome new addition to the opposite bank of the Ij and worth crossing the river for for the chips alone, even if you are not on the way to anywhere else! Reasonable prices and the best tasting frites in Amsterdam - trust us, we’ve tried the others! A nice range of snacks as well as chips and a range of organic drinks too. If its sunny, find a spot on the bank to watch the world go by and if its not, there is a (very) small indoor space to shelter. Coffee smelt amazing too but as we’d just been up the A’dam tower and had several cups we were already buzzing. Definitely returning on our next visit.

Best frites in Amsterdam

Great little kiosk selling fabulous fries hand cut on the premises and cooked to order. Catch the free ferry behind the central station and this little gem is in front of you on the left. Worth the trip

Fantastic frites

We crossed the Ij on the ferry outside Centraal station and had frites and iced coffee from the little cafe. The frites were the best we tasted on our trip to Amsterdam and the coffee was very good too. You won’t get fancy seating but you can grab a bench and watch the comings and goings along the river front.
