A delightful Hotel

Hotel Heineke was one of those pleasant surprises. It looked great, felt great, and indeed was great from beginning to end. I’m only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was wonderful, and the atmosphere was one of intimacy and warmth.

A little gem

Thinking of staying in Hilversum? Don’t. For a short bus ride you could stay in one of the best little hotels that I’ve ever stayed at. It puts the big chains to shame. It’s friendly , it’s full of locals who are chatty and welcoming....the food is delightful , the rooms are comfortable. There’s nothing complicated about Heineke. The rooms are quite simple but have everything you need . The TV is Dutch but the WiFi is excellent. You can safely stream your TV , if you want , on your device. But that’s irrelevant . No one comes here to watch TV but to socialise with a nice cold beer and the special of the day.....the special only costs 10 euros and is different every day. The staff were unfailingly cheerful and helpful. Hilversum is quite a nice place but Oud Loosdrecht was special. From there I bought a boat/home in Lelystad. In there I made friends. I won’t forget this place in a hurry. It gave me pleasure on so many levels.

Fantastic little hotel

As a recent convert to smaller hotels rather than large chains, this place reinforced why they are so much better. The owner was welcoming and happy to cook us something when arriving late from the office. Breakfast was continental and the coffee was like rocket fuel - but I think that might the Dutch way and I loved it! Rooms are clean and my shower was lovely. Warm, friendly bar and all the staff speak good English and are more than happy to help. I would echo the stairs comment, you do need to take them slowly!
