Carpe Diem ristorante, Rotterdam

Lovely family run Sicilian restaurant. Beautifully cooked food in the open plan kitchen. All the staff are very enthusiastic about their food and service. Very enjoyable evening.

I’ve eaten in a lot of nice places but I’ve never had a Tiramisu this nice. I really felt overwhelmed at how good it was. I would just like to give the biggest compliments to the chef. What an amazing restaurant. Small and cozy. Delicious fishes and mains. Good selection of wine. Good for dates or family dinners! That tiramisu.... ❤️???? Must try.

This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Rotterdam. Beautiful restaurant, great staff, great food with the highest quality ingredients, nice wine list, and just the right kind of busy. Absolutely loved it. Apparently it opened only 4 months ago. I will definitely go back.

Great restaurant. Excellent choice of dish dishes, and a very good choice of wines. The staff is very friendly and helptul.

We came here with a Groupon for a main course only. The welcome was very very friendly. We were handed over the menu’s and we decided to take a full three meal course with choices between meat and fish. We started with an amuse which was very tasty. It was a soup with mascarpone on it. The starters were fish and meat platters. Excellent quality and presented really nice. In between we shared a ravioli which was a bit on the salty side (due to the sauce). The mains (fish and meat) were very good and at last we enjoyed a lava-ice-cream-cake as dessert together. Real itialan food with heart and soul. Would for sure recommend going out for a bite here!

Carpe Diem opened only 3 months ago. We went there on a Friday night. we were welcomed by the owner and got a choice of tables. Our four course meal started with a little extra: we got a light soup of spinach and white beans on the house. A nice gesture and very tasty too. We chose a selection of antipasti, primi piatti and secondi. There was a good choice of fish dishes and some meat dishes on the menu, as well as some specials. The waitress was the owner’s wife/girlfriend and maybe co-owner. She was very professional and friendly, and so was the owner. The food was excellent and very Italian. The pasta was cooked al dente, which is how the Italians eat their pasta. The dishes were not only very tasty and fresh and well prepared, they also look ed very pretty. 3 of us had fish dished, but one of us ordered tagliata di manzo (sliced beef with parmesan cheese). another great dish! The owner comes from Sicily and the 3 cooks all come from different parts of Italy. A little piece of Italy in Rotterdam. There was a good selection of deserts, which are not on the menu, because they change every day. All were very, very tasty. We also had 2 bottles of white wine (pecorino) which was excellent, and a glass of red with the meat dish. And of course espresso after the meal. Great coffee! You simply can’t beat the Italians for making coffee. A big thank you to the owners who gave us a wonderful evening. We hope to be back soon! PS: Carpe Diem is not right in the city center, but it is an easy walk from the center, and it is well worth it!
