Make Coffee - Not War! Fight bad coffee - not other people!

It is the slogan and campaign of the coffee outlet, which offered the best espresso with a view. If you need a look to see the skyline of the city center of Amsterdam, you need to take the complimentary ferry to IJplein out of Central Station. An Italian Barista awaits you here, and she meets all expectations you could have from an Italian Barista: preparing an excellent coffee for you.

Worth the ferry ride

Each time my husband is in Amsterdam he makes the trek out to this place. He LOVES it. Take the ferry from the back side of Centraal over to Amsterdam Noord. The booth is at the IJPlein. The ride is about 15 minutes one-way and the ferry is free.

Best coffee I have ever tasted

I’m a huge latte fan , and the lady who works here most days of the week (Silvia) makes the fluffiest , softest Latte with a distinct taste that keeps me going for the whole day. I visit this place almost daily with my girlfriend. It is difficult to avoid because we always have to take the ferry which is right where the cafe is located. Silvia also makes the milk hotter on colder days which is a nice touch. Never disappointed! 10/10

Real italian coffee in amsterdam

Finally after 4 days travelling in the nice amsterdam we had a real italian espresso coffee like in our home town in italy. The owner Silvia prepared us a cramy espresso and we are happy when we drink coffee espresso. Silvia is a friendly woman and there is a small nice italian community around this place. So reccomended to all italian coffee lovers.

great cappuccino

Authentic Italian cappuccino made by Italians! They are friendly. While you wait for the ferry grab a cup or grab a cup and wait for the next ferry, it is worth it. We also took this ferry because we were jonesin for some authentic cappuccino. We were not let down! We will go back. Even if we have to ride the ferry to get it.

Best of Italy in Amsterdam *****

The Al Ponte Italian Caffe is located at the north side of Amsterdam. Reachable from the ferry port at the Amsterdam Central Railway Station (rear side). Here you take the ferry across to the "IJ-plein" when disembarking the ferry, Al Ponte is directly on the left side. (Note! The ferry is on the far right side when looking towards the IJ-river) Housing one of the best coffee’s in Amsterdam, the café is very famous and loved by many Amsterdammers who take the ferry in the morning, but take before an amazing coffee, cappuchino or any other Italian delight. And that’s not all! Taste the amazing warm Italian breads from Sopressa and Italian ham (one of my favorits!!), to the amazing fresh flavours of mozarella and basil. All warm out of the oven made with love for you! It melts in your mouth! The moments of taking the first bites or sips of your drink, the sensations of these experiences brings you in a moment of inner peace. No workload, stress or hurrying can beat this sensation! There is plenty of sitting space under a roof, but can be a bit chilly if there is a lot of wind or rain. It would be a nice suggestion to seal this off with glass windows and make it a little glass cottage. The prices are great value and not that expensive. Remind to say "Grazie Mille", because the staff, whom speak English and Dutch, are fully original Italians and will appreciate this a lot! CONCLUDED: It may be one of the smallest café’s of Amsterdam, a bit hidden but easily accessibel by ferry, but one such rare and amazingly good that it is a MUST to visit! An amazing way to start your day! RECOMMENDED!
